Gift card holder

i found this simple pop-up giftcard holder on SCS and Hero Arts.
Thought I'd share with everyone.
I'm thinking of making a few to keep on hand for birthdays and whatnot!

What you'll need:
4 X 12 Piece of patterned paper (or you can make your own by stamping a piece of 4 X 12 piece of cardstock)
4-1/4 X 4-1/4 Square piece of coordinating cardstock (used as mat for mounting the interior of gift card)
Stamps
Ink
Bone Folder
Craft Knife
Adhesive

Take your 4 X 12 piece and score it 4" from one end (horizontal orientation) - flip to the other end and score 4" from that end. This will give you a piece divided into 3- 4" squares

Here is the video from Hero Arts blog:

Burnish all score lines with your bone folder
Take the middle square and fold it in half, creating the Pop Up portion of this card in a "hill" -^-
Using your gift card as a guide, cut a slit in the center of middle of your folded piece large enough for your gift card to slide into
Adhere the back side of your pop up portion to your 4-1/4" square piece of cardstock
Embellish as desired
Insert gift card (the important part)

Today

I have yet another busy weekend. Two hockey games and practices, birthday parties and I HAVE to finish my X-mas tags for the swap I'm in. They are almost done, so not to worried about that.

I am also trying to start the teachers paperbag albumns that we will giv for Christmas and plan my Christmas Cards. I've already ordered the kids photos and have a layout all drawn out, but I'm sure it will changes once I get to the store tomorrow and see something new.

I've joined a design group on e-bay and am having fun with that. I've met new people across the country and Canada. The Xmas tag swap is with them and can;t wait to see what I get in the mail soon!

I love looking at other people work.

On to Hockey- Go Bruins

Baseball is over for us for now...we are onto basketball and hockey.
Joined a design group on e-bay. Crop, Paper, Scissors Design.
Seems like a great bunch of gals.

Going to try and make a paper bag album this week, but need to finish my x-mas tag first.
I have to get 10 done and out before Dec 1.

This Saturday is the big hockey fundraising dance, can't wait till it over.
I've been busting my butt trying to get things done and only get minimum help from the rest of the board of directors. I wonder how things will go or who will do everything in a year or so when I'm not around??

Halloween this Friday- weather looks like it will be good- around 50 degrees. Can't wait till that's over.

Today is my 20 year wedding anniversary! Never thought I'd make it this far.

They pulled it OFF!!!

The Red Sox are heading to Tampa for game 6!!

Can't beleive they did it, but like the Sox of the past they know how to pull it off when they have to.

Still trying to join a design group on e-bay, having no luck but will continue to try.

Are the Red Sox coming unraveled??

What is happening to my Red Sox?? Are they coming unraveled? All the media is talking about how they have come back form a 3-1 series in the past, and I think they can do it, but this Rays team has kicked our butt all year!
Well I'm sure all of Red Sox nation will rally together and root for the home team.
Gabby is already thinking of quitting fencing. i wish she would stay with it, but I'm not going to make her. She seems to be doing well in it and I've asked her to rethink it. we have a couple of classes left before she has to make a decision.
I have many new items in my e-bay store- G&G Premade Scraps - Check it out!

Last night the Red Sox won game 1 of the AL playoffs.

My company is getting ready to go through a RIF, now just have to sit back and cross my fingers I make it through it!!

I also just took over as webmaster for the BYH site. This should be fun and keep me pretty busy on top of all the other stuff i have to do.

Fencing

My daughter has decided to try fencing. she saw it on the Olympics and now wants to give it a try. I lucked out and found that they teach fencing classes right in my home town. i was able to persuade them to give her one free class before I spent lots of $$$$$ and find out she didn't like it. Low and behold, she likes it. Now I'm just waiting for her to ask me to buy her all kinds of expensive equipment!!

I will post picture from her class later today.

My Holiday photo

I took these pictures over Labor day weekend. My plan is to use one of these for my Holiday card, but I can't decide which one. I plan on fixing them up, cropping, etc.. before I go to print.

I'm Back!

A well needed time away from everything!
Went to Maryland on 8/15.
Visitied my 97 1/2 year old grandmother, she is doing well. We also went to Adventurepark USA, a Red Sox game and Six Flags Safari. I'm more tired now that I was before I went on vacation. Had a great time and the kids did too.

The kids are back to school next week- ya hoo!! Actually they are both looking forward to it.
Well I'm back to work and have lots of catching up to do.

The Longest Week Ever

Well it's been a long tough week, lots of reports and end of the month stuff to complete before I can go on vacation. Hockey and soccer are about to start up again.

Cricut- I love it! i have 4 cartridges and just ordered 3 more.
Had to make a bridal shower card and was able to tell my daughter what i wanted and in what color, she ran the cricut and I glued everything down on the card. Simple and it looks really nice!

I've seen that people are using their cricut to cut out pieces and then are selling on e-bay.
I am going to try that, I think the Disney figures might sell, people are always scrapping their vacations and especially trips to Disney, so why not try to sell these really cute pieces for their own work. I am going to add some items to my store when i return from vacation.

been watching the Olympics faithfully. Love that Michael Phelps!

Off to Maryland tomorrow, can't wait! A few days on my uncles farm and going to catch the Red Sox play at Camden yards.
Go RED SOX!!

Be back next week................

Ya-Hoo

Ok, it took an extra week but they have come to an agreement. Thank God, now I can go on vacation.

I am still working on LOs for ebay, I also have a bunch of cards to add.
I think I am going to work on things all month, then list all at the same time.
That way summer will be over and I think there will be more action.
Thinking of offering complete 20 page scrapbooks. Will see how that goes.

Off to Maryland on friday, the kids are very excited. I'm not looking forward to the drive, but I know we will have fun when we get there.
Then comes birthday weeks, 5 birthdays in the next few weeks.

Squidding

Here is another a few more of my cards.

Last night the kids and I went squidding....we've never been before but caught several and had fried calamari when we got home. I've never cleaned a squid, only fish in the past, but I picked it up pretty quickly and shortly after dinner was served.

Back at Work

Well as of now the strike has not happened! Yipee! They are still talking which is a good thing. Now just waiting to hear that they came to an agreement.

The weather was not great this weekend, got to put in some hours on the cricut. we have had lots of fun playing with the fonts and characters.

I also finished up a few more layouts for e-bay. When I have a few more I will list all of them in my store.

I also have more handmade cards up, hope to see some movement on those soon. Here is an example of one. I use StampingBella stamps and water color each image, then mat. These have made great cards for all my friends and family and hope the will be some interest from others.
Check out G&G Premade Scraps store on e-bay.

Still Waiting

Five hours till the deadline. Just have to sit and wait. I will have to make sure to check my e-mail and the website after midnight. I hope I will not be going to work in the morning......

My new cricut came yesterday, have only had a few hours to play with it so far. It seems like it will be a great tool for scrapbooking. I finished another few layouts to put on e-bay. The summer seems to be very slow, no movement on my items. I will continue to build an inventory of layouts and albums and hope that they will move when the summer is over.

Day 1-

Today is day 1 on my blog. I have never done this before, so please bare with me. I am sitting here waiting to hear if the company I work for will go on strike or not. If they do I will be working lots of hours since I am not a union employee. Lots of hours means less time to do my favorite thing: scrapbooking.

I recently learned how to create paper piecing figures and tear bears. I'm not sure that I am a big fan of them yet, although I see there are many premade scrapbook pages selling on e-bay with both techniques. I have listed a few premade pages to see if I could sell them, the first time they didn't sell, not I've added a few furry tear bears and I want to see if that changes anything. I have had a lot more hits than I did without the bears.

Hope this blog works out and I have others that would like to share and read with me.
